That changes what goes wrong: - **Zoned systems** with dampers, a zone board and several thermostats, where one bad damper motor leaves a floor hot. - **Two or three systems per house**, often installed at the same time and wearing out together. - **Communicating thermostats and variable-speed equipment** that need the right diagnostics rather than parts swapping. Porter Ranch is part of the City of Los Angeles (LADWP power, LADBS permits). For whole-house replacements, see [AC installation](https://elviraoceanair.com/ac-installation-ca/). Each zone should be sized and its controls matched; see [heat pump installation](https://elviraoceanair.com/heat-pump-installation-ca/). For cleaner indoor air we install high-grade filtration and air purification and clean and seal ducts; see [indoor air quality](https://elviraoceanair.com/indoor-air-quality-ca/). ## Porter Ranch AC repair questions Upstairs is hot and downstairs is fine. What should I check?Check that the upstairs thermostat is calling for cooling and the filter is clean. If both are fine, a zone damper or the zone board is the likely cause; we test them before suggesting any new equipment. Should I replace both systems at once?If both are the same age and one has failed, replacing them together keeps the zones matched and makes it one project instead of two. We price both ways. Do you offer emergency AC repair in Porter Ranch?Yes, 24/7 emergency service is available.
